1/30 Scale. Matte Finish. 1 Piece Set

The proper position for kneeling and firing a long gun has the shooter making three points of contact with the ground: on his right, the ball of his foot and knee; on the left, the sole of his foot. This gives the shooter maximum control of his weapon and was a necessary position to take when firing in massed ranks. However, with the advent of the rifled musket a single shooter could be just as effective as a row of men armed with a smooth bore weapons. Independent firing became lethal and efficient making the common soldier, in effect, a sniper. This meant his main concern would be concealment. From behind cover such as a rock, fence, wall, or earthen mound he could train accurate and deadly fire on his own – no longer was the “proper” stance as relevant.
